Abstract: Cancer is a complex disease and one of the leading causes of death in adults. Recent advances in genomics have enabled dissecting aspects of the biology of cancer at different levels, which has considerably advanced diagnosis, stratification, and treatment of cancer patients. I will discuss recent efforts from my group to study cancer from the standpoint of genome evolution and clonal dynamics. Our findings show that the trajectory of cancer progresssion can be inferred from patient-derived tumor samples, which have implications for diagnosis and stratification of cancer patients. |
