Learning Objectives

  • Visualize 3D structural data from
    • experimentally determined structures (from RCSB.org)
    • computed structure models (from RCSB.org or other sources such as AlphaFold)
  • Select all or parts of the 3D structure to
    • display it in different representations, colors, and more
    • analyze interactions
    • measure distances and angles within and between proteins, nucleic acids, and other molecules
  • Map information to available structures e.g.,
    • functional features
    • mutations
  • Superimpose structures of
    • same protein in different conformations
    • similar proteins to compare features
  • Export publication quality images and animations for videos

Who Should Attend?

Professionals, researchers, educators, and students interested in interactively exploring 3D structural data to understand its functions in

  • Bioinformatics
  • Biology
  • Cheminformatics and computational chemistry or biology
  • Chemistry
  • Structural biology
